POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marathon County District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a Deflection Program Assistant t to join our team. The Program Assistant provides support to our Deflection Specialist.
The position requires a dependable, flexible, well organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, customer service-focused, team-oriented, and strong computer skills.
This is a part-time position, working an average of 20 hours per week. This Limited Term Employee (LTE), is expected to work for three months with the potential of renewal up to 36-months.
This opportunity offers a hybrid work-from-home (WFH)/remote option and flexible scheduling, with some hours required to overlap with 8-4:30 M-F in order to connect with Deflection Staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent required. Must have two years paid related work experience providing extensive customer service in human services or a related field. Extensive computer skills required. Post-secondary education in the human services or criminal justice fields desirable.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provides phone coverage when Deflection staff are unavailable.
- Enters data into specialized programs, like REDCap
- Uses Excel for tracking data purposes
- Prepares paperwork when directed
- Refers individuals to treatment and gathers required information
- Performs related work as directed and other duties as assigned
- Prepare activities, visuals, and other necessities for scheduled events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of functions and services provided by the Marathon County Deflection Program
- Knowledge of available Substance Use Disorder programs
- Ability to follow and understand written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently, apply standards and criteria, and exercise judgment in accordance with established program procedures.
- Ability to conduct basic interviews by listening, observing, gathering facts, and recording facts accurately.
- Ability to perform basic math functions and use a calculator and/or Excel.
- Ability to effectively work with other agency staff and members of the community.
- Ability to organize and maintain information and keep records and file documentation current.
- Skill in operating a computer and utilizing software programs to review and enter data; word processing tasks to produce reports and correspondence.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly rate: $18.80
