POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to manage Sylvan Hill Park, Winter Tubing Concessions Operation, its areas, facilities and programs, to assist in the direction of facility operations and public and private use of this area and assist in supervising seasonal staff. This work is performed under the direction of the Assistant facility Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Opens the concession stand, preparing the menu items for sale, managing the cash register, inventorying and creating order lists for food and beverage supplies, serving customers at the concession counter.
Supervises seasonal snack bar workers, insures a safe, clean eating experience by directing seasonal staff to clean tables and chairs, enforcing safety rules within the chalet, and keeping patrons safe in the use of Sylvan Tubing Hill.
Ensures that assigned work is carried out in the chalet, including in the concession stand and tow ticket areas.
Follows and directs others to follow all safety standards, facility-use rules and regulations as required by licensing authorities and department policies.
Provides basic information regarding facility use, set up, events, and staff requirements to the public; in the absence of the Assistant Facility Manager, oversees public use of the facility and acts as the primary point of contact for public users and the first point of on-site contact for private rental groups when concessions are required during a rental.
May collect and record tubing hill attendance records and ticket fees, vend snack bar products and collect snack bar receipts, rental group payments, and other program receipts as needed.
Responds to inquiries and answers questions from the public and staff regarding park use and policies; provides basic information and referrals as needed, responds to emergencies, receives and records and responds with limited authority to complaints and concerns and passes them on to the assistant facility manager for resolution as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation required plus two years post high school work experience or training in a service provider field.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Must have the ability to obtain a current Wisconsin Dept of Health and Family Services Food Handlers Certificate at the level required by the concession license issued to the Sylvan Chalet Snack Bar.
COMPENSATION:
$15.50 per hour. This seasonal position is not eligible for benefits.
