Join our Road Maintenance Team for the 2025 Summer Season!
We are looking for individuals to assist with road maintenance utilizing a variety of medium and heavy road maintenance equipment. This critical role will assist with minor road repairs, brush clearing, traffic control, and other duties as assigned.
This is an entry-level classification and individuals are assigned to a variety of work, including heavy physical tasks and the operation of a variety of road maintenance equipment on training or relief assignments.
PROOF OF VALID CLASS C OPERATOR'S LICENSE ISSUED BY A STATE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLE IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.

Ideal candidates will have:
Knowledge of:
- Safe work practices
- Geography and road names of a Nevada County road maintenance district
- Methods, procedures, tools and materials used in the repair and maintenance of roads
- Learning to maintain and make minor repairs on roads
- Performing physical labor requiring strength, manual dexterity, and agility
- Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with those contacted during work
