What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Maintenance Technician I position at County of Rockbridge?
Rockbridge County is searching for Maintenance Technicians to perform general semiskilled work maintaining county parks, and other County facilities and equipment, general custodial, maintenance and grounds keeping duties; general administrative support work assisting the public, completing daily reports, and handling cash and money transactions.
Successful candidates will have general knowledge of park maintenance practices and procedures, custodial and grounds keeping methods and practices; general knowledge of basic horticultural, carpentry, plumbing, and custodial practices, and excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
Requirements include, high school diploma or GED and moderate experience general maintenance, grounds keeping, or parks maintenance work, or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a valid Virginia Driver’s License.
Other requirements include: Bachelor's degree with coursework in business administration, economics, marketing, or related field, and experience in budgeting, finance, economic development, and marketing preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
Starting salary $32,886. Rockbridge County offers a competitive benefits package including paid holidays/vacation/sick leave and participation in the Virginia Retirement System. Open until filled with preference given to applications received by July 1.
