Job Summary
The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for
ACCOUNT CLERK SPECIALIST
Interviews will take place the week of March 24th, 2025. The department will be reaching out to candidates to invite them to participate in an interview.
Account Clerk Specialists perform the more difficult and complex clerical accounting tasks and serve as lead to subordinate staff performing clerical accounting duties. Duties include :
- Compiles and records financial transactions.
- Codes costs to proper distribution according to predetermined functional and organizational classifications.
- Explains financial and assessment procedures and accounting requirements to employees and the public.
- Audits budgetary classification of expenditure documents.
- Assists in the preparation of periodic reports.
- Prepares and maintains redemption tax records.
- Gathers statistical data and prepares worksheets for budget estimates.
- Prepares the pre-audit report of public funds for payment and warrant preparation.
- Audits and distributes receipts and revenues to proper accounts.
- Reviews and processes claims and invoices from contractors, suppliers, and / or service providers for payment.
- Maintains accounts receivable subsidiary ledgers.
- Utilizes data processing printouts and personal computers to perform clerical accounting duties.
- Track and reconcile fixed asset and minor equipment inventory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
