Position: Technical Support Analyst (FLSA Status: non-exempt)
Reports To: IT Director
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Technical Support Analyst plays a critical role in providing first-line technical support end-users within the organization. The position is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, responding to help desk tickets, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and services. The Analyst will collaborate closely with IT team members to resolve complex problems and maintain a secure and efficient IT environment.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the ability to thoroughly grasp the principles and practices of computing, including the managing of multiple servers, workstations, and data security, provide technical support, design and programs specific to various County departments’ , troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, networks, and systems to ensure functionally of the equipment, maintain a current knowledge of new technology, and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, any other related field, or 2 years professional work experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An employee in this classification is responsible for performing assignments that are technical in nature and are carried out in accordance with administrative and personnel practices, procedures and precedents, specific goals and objectives and any applicable legal standards or regulations. Specific job duties include the following:
- as to provide timely an effective first-level technical support to end-users via various channels including phone, email, and in-person assistance.
- to diagnose and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues, for example printer problems, network connectivity issues, software installations, and email problems.
- to efficiently manage and prioritize help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
- by performing routine maintenance tasks including software updates, patch management, and system configuration.
- by maintaining accurate records of IT assets, such as computers, peripherals and software license.
- by helping with the onboarding process for new users including provisioning accounts, setting up work stations, and providing necessary training.
- by helping to promote best security practices among end-users and to help mitigate risks.
- to work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and implement new technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- requiring individual to perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records within the server environments.

Work Environment/Physical Standards: While performing these duties of the job, the employee will be required to sit for extended periods, keyboarding, write, talk, hear, stand occasionally and lift up to fifty(50) pounds.
