(The following is used as a partial description and is not restrictive as to duties required.)Gather, tabulate, analyze and chart data; draws organization, workload and other charts; prepares reports and makes recommendations on procedures, policies and program alternatives; presents data and reports to management and makes recommendations on performance, financial, client and other administrative systems; review and analyze proposed legislation and advise management on the potential impact; make decisions in financial, and other administrative systems of average to difficult complexity; monitors contracts; writes a variety of complex reports, prepares correspondence; provides assistance to supervisor where necessary and perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operated standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to life, carry, push and pull materials and objects up to 25 pounds.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees will interact with staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. Salary: Staff Services Analyst I: $4289.27 - $5748.03 per monthStaff Services Analyst II: $4738.02 - $6349.41 per monthDISASTER SERVICE WORKERIn addition to our everyday duties, we have an added responsibility to help in a declared disaster. Under California law, all public employees are Disaster Service Workers and may be called upon in the event of a disaster. The roles and responsibilities for Disaster Service Workers are authorized by the California Emergency Services Act and are defined in the California Government Code 3100-3102; Labor Code 3211.92(b).
