Major Functions
The County of Volusia is seeking a part- time recreation aide for the Beach Safety Division. This position will be located in Daytona Beach, Florida and will under general supervision, perform entry level work regulating parking and educate beach patrons regarding beach code.
NOTE: The selected candidate will be required to work weekends and holidays.

No experience or formal training required.
Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of applying for the position.
Must have valid Drivers License.
Level two (2) background check is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
SUPERVISES: N/A
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: This position is located in various districts from Ormond Beach south to New Smyrna Beach.
Mental Demands: Ability to read and comprehend technical and professional manuals, procedures, instructions, memos, and letters. Ability to write compound sentences relating information, data, details to layman. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Ability to speak clearly and concisely, conversant in practices and procedures of discipline.
Physical Demands: Use of fingers, hands, good vision, depth perception, hearing, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, balancing, and stooping. Occasional: Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, reaching above shoulder.
Environmental Demands: Inside and outside work. Exposure to inclement weather (heat, humidity, cold, rain), dust.

- Handle inquiries and complaints from the public.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
