What are the responsibilities and job description for the Establishment Worker position at County of York?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing clerical support services to the Establishment Unit to provide excellent customer service to the public, other County/Court departments, attorneys and co-workers. All duties must comply with State laws and rules and meets the requirements at PACSES (Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System) and York Domestic Relations Section procedure as well as local Court rules and procedures. In addition, some within this category provide additional duties to interpret the proceedings for Spanish speaking clients.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must posses a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must posses good communication skills both verbal and written
- Must possess very good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to set up and type correspondence, forms, tables, schedules etc. using a personal computer word processing program and/or typewriter as necessary.
- Must be able to perform mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) either manually or by using a calculator
- Ability to work within the organizational structure (Chain of Command) and adhere to and support the policies and procedures of the Court and/or County
- Ability to file paperwork and/or locate a case within the office through various methods
- Responsible to locate and distribute cases for future conferences to the Officer holding the conference
- Prepare cases for conference by confirming demographic, employment and wage information
- Complete locate work as necessary to find parties and/or income for establishment of an order
- Monitor and respond to voice mail request from clients for payment records. Print and mail as appropriate
- Update docket indices in computer as needed
- Review and determine re-direction of conference notices that have been returned to assist in completion of service of the notice
- Process voluntary acknowledgment of paternity with a defendant including advising the party of his rights regarding the paternity proceedings
- Process wage attachments that conference officers generate from conferences
- Mail orders received from Court in appeal hearings
- Receive and distribute court orders/pleadings and motions with “blue backs” timely and to the correct person for processing.
- Assist with processing and monitoring cases for which an appeal has been filed to Superior Court
- Complete monthly file management assignments
- Maintain and submit required statistical reports on work activity
- Carry out required Case File Maintenance System tasks to ensure ease of file location for all office workers
- Assist with special projects
- Demonstrate proficiency with general, duty-specific and duty-related portions of the PACSES system
- Comply with all computer and office security, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Attend periodic training about PACSES, the support system or other relevant topics to enhance work performance
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisor.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist Spanish-speaking clients with telephone inquiries
- Interpret for Spanish-speaking clients during appointments and conferences
