What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at County?
The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking to fill the vacancy of an Administrative Assistant position. The administrative duties include the following:
- Respond to public inquiries either in person or by phone
- Open and maintain case files by entering reports, documents, and witness information
- File court documents with the Circuit Clerk
- Assist attorneys with providing discovery to defense
- Prepare bond forfeitures and arrest warrants
- Prepare and issue summons to defendants
- Prepare and issue court notices to police officers
- Prepare and issue subpoenas to witnesses
- Prepare and issue Writs
- Accurately file documents into files
- Assist in opening Matter files
- Close out case files in case management system
- Assist support staff as necessary
The administrative assistant will perform other clerical duties as needed and should have the ability to multitask with attention to detail.
Required skills:
Clerical and office skills
Familiar with current office equipment
Proficient in Word and Excel
Ability to organize and prioritize workload
Ability to meet all deadlines adequately and efficiently
Position requires 40 hours per week- Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and includes paid holidays, excellent benefits including health insurance and IMRF pension eligibility.
