Courage to Connect Mental Health Center is a private group practice located in Glenview, Glencoe, Wilmette, and Lake Bluff. We provide comprehensive evaluations to children, adolescents, young adults and adults in a supportive and compassionate manner to help the patient understand themselves better and find solutions to their problems. We are looking for a Director to oversee our psychological and neuropsychological testing team. We are looking for Psy.D. candidate to carry a caseload of assessment clients, administer comprehensive batteries and provide supervision and oversight over the department.

Requirements: The ideal candidate must be licensed as a clinical psychologist in Illinois with a minimum of two-year independent experience in comprehensive assessments. Previous supervisory experience is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with providing a variety of psychological and/or neuropsychological assessment measures as well as knowledge of best practices for testing to the lifespan. Candidate must have experience with test administration and interpretation, the ability to integrate results, excellent writing skills and ability to proficient and efficient with report writing.

Courage to Connect has warm, beautifully decorated treatment rooms and large, comfortable waiting rooms. Our office provides an electronic medical records system, company phone extension and email, along with the full support of our billing team, intake coordinator, office administration, and marketing. All new patients will be assigned by the testing intake department and the billing team will handle insurance verification and process insurance claims and out of pocket financial responsibility. We have a practice manager that oversees the multi-location clinical team.

Responsibilities:

  • The director will carry a caseload of assessment clients, which includes administering assessments, interpretation, and report writing.
  • Conduct clinical interview to determine the appropriateness of the psychological testing as well as the selection of appropriate tests designed to address specific referral questions
  • Schedule testing appointments, administer psychological measures, scores and interprets results in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Prepare psychological testing report and present results and report to patient/family in an interactive feedback session.
  • The director will provide supervision and oversight to the testing department, which includes weekly supervision, support with case conceptualization, review data and oversight on reports and documentation, and provide training, as needed.
  • The director will assist with hiring, onboarding, and training as well as conduct performance evaluation.
  • The director will collaborate with the Director of Clinical Training to coordinate and provide training opportunities for practicum students and pre-doctoral interns.
  • Ability to work independently with patients assigned to testing department.
  • Ability to also work well in a team environment. We are a compassionate and enthusiastic group of experienced clinicians. We embrace team collaboration through monthly resource meetings and supervision. Psychological Testing team consults with Counseling and Psychiatry department on internal cases.
  • Ability to collaborate with patients’ referring provider/physician/professionals as well as any other pertinent treatment providers to ensure optimum level of care and treatment.
  • Ability to work well with families and/or guardians
  • Willingness to go above and beyond for client care.
  • The department Director, Psychological Testing and Evaluation Services reports directly to the Executive Clinical Director and work closely with the Executive Clinical Director on program development and strategic planning to grow and develop the department.

W2 Full-time Position or 1099

Benefits are offered to full-time psychologists who work 30 hours weekly.
