Operations Manager
Courier Express is seeking an Eastern MA Operations Manager reporting to the Director of Operations. This position will oversee and assist in development of daily functionalities at Courier Express Offsite Locations within Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The ideal candidate must possess natural managerial qualities including strong attention to detail, ability to lead and manage internal workflow and individuals, enhance individual strengths and build strong relationships with new and existing clientele.
This Position will involve frequent travel to locations of priority with a designated company vehicle. Day Shift Monday-Friday TBA, will require communication after hours as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the Director of Operations
- Consistent travel throughout Eastern MA and Rhode Island to various Courier Express Sites and/or customer locations with company vehicle.
- Assist in the development, and supervision of staff members off site.
- Contribute to the development and growth of a high-performance team while being a leader in communicating and creating positive relationships with departmental staff, carriers, and customers.
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and execute the day-to-day activities according for a fast-paced & fast-growing business.
- Evaluate, recruit, train and orient new and existing dispatch and/or driver staff.
- Maintain, develop and engage relationships to improve communications and maximize cost savings while improving efficiency and profit margins.
- Focus on improving customer service levels, on-time deliveries, and increasing communication with customers while gaining greater operational efficiencies.
- Build customer relationships to help achieve growth and drive decisions to ensure customer relationships are successful.
- Ensure performance goals are met or exceeded, including on-time deliveries, carrier and equipment availability, and prompt communication of all issues.
- Maintain and monitor security and safety activities in compliance with company, customer, state, local policies, regulations, DOT requirements and safety/health standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Must have and maintain clean driving record
- Type 40 WPM
- 3 year experience in management, dispatch, customer service and/or delivery
- Experience managing a crew of 10 or more for at least 1 year
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Experience working in a Windows-based technical environment
- Experience using mobile phones and tablets to communicate with couriers
- Must be able to work independently and at the same time foster teamwork
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
