Job Overview
The Floor Houseperson assists housekeepers in cleaning and preparing guest rooms and ensures all common areas are meticulously maintained for guest comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all customers warmly and professionally.
- Retrieve linen and trash from room attendant carts and assigned rooms daily.
- Restock linen carts and closets throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage rooms, regularly vacuuming as needed.
- Keep elevators, hallways, walkways, and stairs clean and presentable.
- Assist with special projects like mattress flipping and deep cleaning under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager.
- Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums and carpet cleaners.
- Clean hallway doors, windows, and vents.
- Deliver requested items to guest rooms promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness of all guest’s common areas including lobbies, restrooms, and pool areas, and vacuum hallways as necessary.
- Handle guest complaints efficiently and courteously.
- Assist other hotel departments during peak periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by the manager/ supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous hotel experience preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift and bend as required.
- Ability to see, hear, speak, and understand English proficiently.
- Computer literate.
- Strong communication skills with guests.
- Knowledge of the local area is advantageous.
