What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door Person position at Cove Communities?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- A door person ensures that each patron is old enough to legally enter the establishment by checking each guest's identification.
- If a patron is clearly intoxicated, causing trouble while waiting in line or has caused trouble at the bar in the past, the door person can refuse to admit the Guest/Owner.
- They track the number of people they admit and the number of people who leave the establishment to ensure that the number of people inside does not exceed the maximum safe occupancy allowed by law.
- Door persons are required interact with customers in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
- When a patron is denied entrance to the bar, a door person calmly and respectfully explains the reasons why. After listening to a customer's protests, the door person instructs the patron to leave the premises and may summon another door person or a Manager to persuade the customer to leave.
- A Door person may be asked to cover another location by Management if there is a need.
- All Courtesy Patrol Staff will be required to have knowledge of the RMS System (Reservations). To assist in verifying Guest and Owners are allowed access.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.
Education & Experience
- Previous experience as a Door person is preferred
- Security background is a plus
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Knowledge of State Issued Photo Identification
- Knowledge of State Liquor Laws
- “TIPs” Certification is a plus
Compensation
- $16.00 - $18.00 DOE
