What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tournament Director position at Cove Communities?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate with Stay and Play packages to book their tee times and record any needs they may have on their days of golf
- Responsible for being the point of contact for all outside tournaments
- Communicate with membership all tournament information throughout the season
- Manage the tee sheet for tournament and stay and play package dates
- Work with the reservations department to ensure there are no conflicts between stay and play groups and outside events
- Assist with tournament setup and have all printed materials ready to go prior to the day of the event
- Communicate with the course super intendent on any course requirements for course setup or starting tees
- Create event sheets for all events and communicate with all resort departments regarding any needs there may be from other departments
- Communicate thoroughly with golf staff making sure everyone knows all details regarding the tournament and their tournament day tasks
- Coordinate with 19th hole and food and beverage department regarding food and beverage needs
- Pro shop hours
- Develop and maintain an event book that contains all details regarding any events hosted by the golf course
- Create after action reports for each event – what went well and what didn’t
- Coordinate prizes & tee gifts for golfers with Head Professional and D.O.G
Experience & Qualifications
- Experienced computer user including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. Email, Internet. Will be trained in Tournament Software
- Experienced in tournament operations and Rules of Golf
- Calligraphy skills a plus to enable the creation of signage, score sheets, etc.
- Experienced in public relations and public speaking
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Experienced in personnel management and volunteer coordination
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service and customer focused attitude
- Effective interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all constituencies
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
- Maintain a credible golf game
- Remain up to date on customer relations management, marketing and business trends
Compensation
- $16.00 - $19.00 DOE
