Cove Point Assistant Maintenance Technician Duty Description
Primary Responsibility.
The Assistant Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to adopt the character, work ethic, and lifestyle of the Cove Point Council of Co-Owners to protect, maintain, and enhance the value of the community while maximizing the living experience for residents, employees, and guests. Work conducted in line with Cove Point Vision and Mission partners with the Virginia Beach community and supports our neighbors’ efforts to build an enviable community at large. This is accomplished by ensuring that all common area tasks are expertly performed on schedule and on call when necessary, and that all resident maintenance issues are resolved expeditiously, efficiently, and with attention to detail in accordance with the directions of the General Manager and/or the Maintenance Technician.
Conditions of Employment.
· Cove Point Board of Directors reserves the right to order random drug testing.
- Must provide negative COVID 19 test prior to start of work.
Primary Duties.
· Plumbing, electrical, concrete, plaster & painting, carpentry, and other facility preventative maintenance.
· Assist in the development of maintenance procedures.
· Provide excellent customer service to all residents. (Small electrical, plumbing, HVAC condensation drains, common element drainage, etc.)
· Ensure exceptional curb appeal by keeping the community grounds and facilities free of trash and properly groomed. Supervise, in coordination with the landscape committee, the landscape contractor to ensure the job is complete prior to departure.
· Maintain common areas in an exceptionally clean status.
Skills and Qualifications.
· Documented experience in maintenance operations.
· Preferred electrician experience.
· Preferred plumber experience.
· Preferred carpentry experience.
· Preferred masonry experience.
· Preferred plaster and paint experience.
· Swimming Pool maintenance experience.
Physical and Transportation Requirements.
· Available to respond to on-call emergency services on an as-needed basis.
· Possess personal reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
· Able to lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds with little difficulty.
