Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a part-time ESL teacher to support students in our International Student Program. The teacher will provide instruction to English language learners, integrating biblical principles and the schools Christian philosophy into their teaching while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
This part-time position reports directly to the Dean of Academics. The teachers responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English
- Ensure instruction is consistent and coordinated with Covenant Christian Academys curriculum so that students meet or exceed learning targets
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies
- Address all aspects of communication through instruction that develops students ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the appropriate content areas
- Administer academic and language assessments to evaluate progress toward academic learning targets and English language acquisition
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth
- Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates appropriately challenging instructional strategies
- Adapt curriculum to provide individualized, small-group, and/or remedial instruction to meet the needs of each student
Qualifications of a successful candidate will include:
- A mature Christian faith and the ability to nurture this faith in students
- Willingness to sign and uphold CCAs Statement of Faith and Core Values
- Bachelors degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field (Masters preferred)
- ESL certification (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA) strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in ESL/ELL instruction
- Experience working with international or multilingual students at the elementary, middle, or high school level
- Familiarity with language proficiency assessments (e.g., WIDA, ACCESS, or similar) is a plus
- Passion for supporting language learners academically, socially, and spiritually
- Strong instructional skills with the ability to differentiate and adapt lessons to varied proficiency levels
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to foster a welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills
- A collaborative and flexible team player, eager to partner with classroom teachers and administrators

Ability to work part-time hours during the school day, with flexibility to attend occasional meetings or events outside typical hours
Hours: To be determined, based on student enrollment and grade levels served
Contract: August 2025 through June 2026 (10-month teaching cycle)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
