General Description
The Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant works under the supervision of SBDT Manager, dentists, hygienists or other on-site supervisor(s) and is responsible for a wide range of tasks in a school based dental setting, ranging from administrative duties to patient care to laboratory functions.

General Description
The Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant works under the supervision of SBDT Manager, dentists, hygienists or other on-site supervisor(s) and is responsible for a wide range of tasks in a school based dental setting, ranging from administrative duties to patient care to laboratory functions.
Specific Duties
- Organize the paperwork needed for each site scheduled during the week by ensuring all patients receive all necessary paperwork and all forms are signed and dated correctly
- Register patients, review insurance eligibility and process visit information for billing
- Manage all phone calls pertaining to patients for the School Base Team
- Promote a professional image of SBDT always and be knowledgeable about the services provided
- Identify, report and follow up as necessary on any maintenance issues involving dental equipment
- Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist dentist during dental procedures.
- Record treatment information in patient records.
- Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
- Assist dentist or hygienist in management of medical or dental emergencies.
- Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
- Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory.
- Clean and polish removable appliances.
- Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Assist with fabrication and cementation of provisional (temporary).
- Maintain all lab cases and appoint patients in a timely manner. Inform provider of any communication from lab regarding case matters of significance.
- Assist with site set-up and take-down including moving equipment.
- Drive Company vehicle and travel to sites

- 2 years previous experience in dental office preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish both verbally and in writing strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and other public healthcare plans is a plus.
