Position Summary
Lead, plan, direct and coordinate the Covenant Quality program within an acute care facility to ensure that accreditation and regulatory compliance, performance management and quality improvement programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements that are aligned with strategic initiatives, mission, vision and values system-wide. Promote a culture of continuous improvement that leads to sustained results and optimal performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Leads efforts at the facility and system level to create efficient, reliable and cost-effective processes which support the provision of high-quality patient care.
· Demonstrates expertise in data management and the use of analytical and statistical tools to identify trends in current processes and systems.
· Uses a range of quality improvement tools and techniques to evaluate and successfully redesign processes toward improved performance.
· Transforms data into actionable information and communicates performance improvement priorities and results using narrative and the appropriate methods of data visualization.
· Advises on future data and information needs and resources to better support performance and process improvement initiatives.
· Uses change management processes to engage others in support of the changes required to achieve performance improvement outcomes.
· Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
· Assure compliance the standards of all regulatory organizations, including, but not limited to, CMS, OSHA, DNV, Department of Public Health (DPH), and Boards of Nursing, Medicine, and Pharmacy.
· Other duties as consistent with this role.
Job Requirements
Job knowledge and skills
· Current computer skills, graphics, spreadsheets, and presentation software are essential (MS Office, Access)
· Proven quantitative and analytic skills relevant to the role.
· Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical processes and operations in a health care system
· Strong critical thinking skills, including business writing skills
· CPHQ certification or ability to obtain certification within one year
· Demonstrable commitment to the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct
· Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
· Excellent project management skills
· Adaptability and flexibility required
Education & Experience
· BS in nursing and Masters in a healthcare related field required.
· Five or more years of previous clinical experience in an acute care setting required
· Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in Quality Management required
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
