Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share. Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the State of Maine.
Position Summary:
The primary objective of this position is to support the Wabanaki Center for Research, Knowledge, and Innovation by providing comprehensive evaluation support and implementing rigorous quality improvement measures for the centers at WPHW. The role involves examining evaluation plans to ensure that all measures adhere to the standards set by both the grant and WPHW. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail to guarantee that all deadlines are consistently met. Key responsibilities include creating and working with evaluation data to ensure all performance indicators are being met, meeting with WPHW leaders to work on data collection plans and developing and implementing quality improvement plans. This position is full time, 40 hours per week. This is a fully grant funded position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluation Support:
- Examine evaluation plans to ensure alignment with grant standards and WPHW requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to performance indicators and project outcomes.
- Monitor progress toward grant milestones and identify areas needing corrective action.
Quality Improvement:
- Develop and implement quality improvement strategies that enhance project effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to refine processes and address operational gaps.
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data collection, reporting, and overall project execution.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all evaluation-related documentation.
- Work closely with evaluation team and WPHW leaders to establish consistent data collection and tracking practices.
- Prepare regular reports summarizing data findings, trends, and recommendations.
Collaboration & Communiation:
- Meet with leadership to discuss evaluation progress, address challenges, and strategize next steps.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to ensure shared understanding of goals, deadlines, and responsibilities.
- Represent the Wabanaki Center for Research, Knowledge, and Innovation in meetings and discussions related to evaluation initiatives.
Project Coordination & Communication:
- Manage project timelines and ensure all deliverables meet established deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Uphold compliance standards and guidelines stipulated by both the grant and WPHW.
Other Duties:
- Support community-based meetings and events, as directed
- Attend public health trainings and research-based trainings, as needed
- Participate in other research related work as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- University degree or college diploma in public health, health, education or a related field AND three (3) years relevant experience required; Master of Public Health degree and at least two (2) years relevant experience preferred.
- Experience working in Tribal Communities.
- Experience with public health evaluation or evaluation in related areas.
- Experience working with data systems.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- A demonstrated proficiency in project management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook required.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently Willingness to travel; a good driving record and access to reliable transportation are required.
- A strong work ethic and enthusiasm.
- Must pass criminal background check.
