Position Summary:
Provides professional, onsite support for administration of human resources policies and programs for Covenant Health. Operates as team lead at facility level as applicable.

Responsibilities
- Advises managers/supervisors in resolving employee relations problems, disciplinary actions, and performance management issues. Serves as liaison between employees and leadership to resolve employee relations issues.
- Acts as special projects coordinator and leader on various HR projects as needed.
- Conducts training programs related to employee relations issues such as performance evaluation, disciplinary program, sexual harassment, etc.
- Participates in investigations and may draft responses to EEO or Tennessee Human Rights Commission charges.
- Conducts Integrity/Compliance investigations and reports findings.
- Responds to Tennessee Department of Employment Security Claims and represents Covenant Health on appeals.
- Conducts follow up regarding findings from Compensation, HRIS, or Payroll audits.
- Evaluates and participates in preparing Human Resources for Joint Commission compliance (including development of annual report of competency and follow up throughout the year to ensure that competency issues identified through the performance appraisal process are addressed).
- Ensures completion of Performance Evaluations and distributes notifications to managers regarding merit increase process and merit amounts.
- Conducts HR portion of new employee orientation program and may participate in presentation of Employee Education Day.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience combined with professional HR certification.
Minimum Experience:
Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in human resources functioning in an HR Generalist capacity and includes direct responsibility/involvement in employee relations functions. Knowledge of legal issues related to employee relations. Computer skills required.
Licensure Requirement:
HR certification preferred.
