The youth engagement specialist role is critical to the success of our mission and directly interfaces with youth to provide direct, supportive, individualized care in a positive and holistic way to youth accessing services in the Safe Haven Residential Program.

- Full Time role- 40 hours a week
Thursday - Monday: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Empower Youth: Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating personalized client goal plans that foster growth and independence.
- Ensure Safety: Supervise all client activities to maintain a safe and healthy environment aligned with our agency’s values.
- Facilitate Services: Organize and monitor essential support services, including meals, activities, and both group and individual sessions.
- Communicate Effectively: Promptly inform relevant personnel of any operational issues that require attention.
- Provide Support: Work closely with clients on an individual basis, offering one-on-one counseling and accompanying them to appointments and activities as needed.
- Document Progress: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of client interactions, caseload progress, and inter or intra-agency communications.
- Manage Resources: Ensure responsible allocation and documentation of petty cash and resources, following agency policies and procedures.
- Adapt to Needs: Be flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of the youth we serve.
- Contribute to Program Development: Participate in creating and enhancing program resources tailored to our population.
- Exhibit Professionalism: Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions with staff and youth.
- Support Daily Living: Assist residents with daily tasks, providing residential support as needed.
- Emergency Coverage: Be prepared to stay for additional shifts during emergencies or staff shortages, including holidays and weekends.
- Additional Duties: Any other duties assigned by management staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a human service or related field.
· Excellent communication ability, communicating with youth, staff and management.
· Strong crisis management skills.
· Deep desire to work with at-risk youth.
· Ability to handle physically and emotionally challenging situations.
· Excellent assessment and judgment.
· Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

In the role of Youth Engagement Specialist, you will engage in a variety of physical activities essential for supporting our youth.
