What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Support Manager position at Covenant Logistics?
The Operations Support Manager is responsible for generating and compiling reports and providing recommendations to management based on the findings. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business requirements. The Operations Support Manager will also plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This role will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the profitability and productivity of the business unit. In addition, the Operations Support Manager will lead, mentor, and develop the Fleet Operations Support Team to ensure smooth operation of ancillary functions within the department
Qualifications:
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas.
- Develop models and reporting structure that identify costs and a baseline for action.
- Perform cost-benefits and ROI analyses to aid management in making future business decisions.
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified or new systems.
- Review and analyze effectiveness and efficiency of exiting systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Creates data visualizations to be used in presentations with executive stakeholders.
- Prepares financial reporting to assist senior leadership in identifying gains and losses.
- Provide general support and guidance to management team.
- Collaborate with other departments across the enterprise.
- Help management implement new policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure OO/LP growth stays within accordance with Operation goals.
- Monitor travel expenses budget.
- Oversee regular route improvements and reporting.
- Assign tasks and prioritize team workloads to ensure the successful completion of reporting, initiatives, and objectives.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and ensure continuous development opportunities for team members

- Bachelor’s degree in business management or similar field required. 1 year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- 4 years of Logistics/Transportation experience required.
- Experience with DOMO or other data analytics/visualization software strongly preferred.

The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $56,139.20-$88,836.80
Pay Grade: 9
