What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Project Manager position at Covenant Logistics?
A Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning and management for established initiatives within the company
Responsibilities:
- Defines project scope, deliverables, roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
- Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the program group/function and monitors performance across resource channels.
- Designs and implements processes to monitor and control resources, budget, risks and value to Business Objectives.
- Establishes, plans, and executes major milestone reviews and decision gates to complete the program and project life cycle. Ensures all the required products are produced and reviewed, including the technical leadership of requirements management, design, implementation, system integration, verification, test, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainment of the technical solution.
- Manages and appropriately escalates delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes associated to the product development initiatives.
- Leads and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels.
- Analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties.
- Assigns and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget.
- Creates a method of change management including ownership of a documentation, communication plans, process training, etc.
- Assigns and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones.
- Holds regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.
- Documentation specialist, making sure scope, decisions, risks, key and key notes are captured keeping the project moving forward
Qualifications:
- Ability to breakdown complex scope into key tasks.
- Ability to delegate and plan work for various kinds of technical resources.
- Business acumen and understanding of ROI and Strategic Investment.
- Organized planner able to devise critical path requirements.
- Great communicator ensuring each team member understands their role.
- Excellent Team Management and Forming Skills.
- Technical feasibility and understanding of Covenant Application portfolio.
- Decisive negotiator driving to Minimum Viable scope delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Education, or Communications.
- 2 years’ experience running technology related projects.
- Project Management Professional Preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master Preferred.

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $72,155.20-$124,342.40
Pay Grade: 11
