Covenant Village, a Life Plan Community in Gaston County is looking for a temporary Receptionist to work Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. until September 30, 2025. There is a possibility, no guarantee, of making the position permanent after October 1, 2025. The ideal Receptionist will create a good first impression when greeting Residents and Visitors. They will answer the phone in a polite manner and assist the caller whenever possible or direct them to the appropriate person or department.
Other Responsibilities:
- Open and close office daily.
- Answer and forward all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Place phones on night service when leaving for the day.
- Monitor and ensure that the reception area is kept tidy.
- Project a professional business-like image.
- Work holidays when needed.
- Check and sign for deliveries and inform Residents or Staff of packages.
- Maintain kitchen area.
- Create an environment of pride and quality among all Staff, encouraging them to achieve their highest potential.
- Champion the mission, vision, and CV CARES core values of the community with all staff, residents, families, and guests.
- Adhere to all Covenant Village policies and procedures.
- Respond to company requests such as training, surveys or forms, etc. in a timely and thorough manner without reminders.
- Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED is required plus a minimum of 2-years’ experience in an office environment as receptionist or switchboard operations. Must have excellent telephone etiquette and able to communicate clearly, politely and professionally with Residents, staff and members of the local community. Must have the ability to work on own initiative, to work as part of a team, and project a professional business-like image. Able to follow instructions, give attention to detail, work at high standards while under pressure and work well with others. Must be familiar with the use of office equipment, have good writing skills, problem solving skills, computer knowledge with keyboard skills (minimum accurate 35 wpm) and word processing experience combined with the ability to acquire other skills as needed. Able to read normal print (with or without corrective lenses). Must be agile, efficient, able to balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand for long periods of time, stoop, lift 15 pounds, and perform repetitive movements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
