A Utility Aide provides a clean and safe kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware and kitchen.
- Loads, runs and unloads dish machine.
- Monitors dish machine water temperature and detergent, sanitizer, chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycles.
- Keeps the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to management.
- Washes, sanitizes and stores all tableware and kitchenware according to the Federal Food Code.
- Removes and breaks down all cardboard boxes from the kitchen.
- Handles tableware carefully to prevent cross contamination and breakage.
- Ensures the dish room, food preparation and production areas clean and organized.
- Completes daily and extra sanitation cleaning.
- Ensures that all trash is removed, and the floors are swept and mopped daily.
- Provides help to the Cooks to ensure meal prep is being done in a timely manner.
- Ensures all food transport trucks/carts are cleaned and sanitized before the next use.
- Attends all In-services and Food and Nutrition meetings.
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
- Observes infection control, safety and follows Covenant Village policy and procedures.
- Maintains the Mission Statement and CV CARES Core Values of Covenant Village and the Goals of the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Must be able to see regular print (with or without corrective lenses). Must have ample feeling in fingers to grasp small objects as well as, be able to balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand for long periods of time and stoop. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have a positive attitude and work well with other team members. Must be able to work unsupervised; to communicate clearly with residents, managers and various staff members; and to follow oral and written direction and ask questions. This position will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions including chemical hazards. Adequate safety training and equipment will be provided.
