We offer defined schedules and dietician prepared menus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Dietary Aides are responsible with assisting the cook with the overall meal preparation and function of the kitchen and dining room services during their shift. The dietary aide will assist with food preparation, food service and after meal cleanup, while meeting all regulatory requirements and kitchen health standards. The Dietary Aide assists the cook to ensure the following-
- Prepares and/or pre-portions food (such as beverages, salads, desserts, and other items assigned by the Cook or Dietary Manager) for regular and special diets according to planned menus, production sheets and as directed.
- Kitchen sanitation practices and food service policies are followed in a safe environment,
- Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner. Uses proper tasting technique to ensure that quality standards are met prior to service.
- Follows procedures for serving meals.
- Communicates well to residents, families, employees and vendors by providing a warm and friendly greeting with an approachable attitude.
- Acts in a professional manner at all times,
- Responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor.
- Assists with preparing food items for special events.
- Washes, rinses and sanitizes pots, pans and service ware according to established procedures and assists with other cleaning as needed or assigned.
- Keeps sinks, cabinets, tables and other kitchen equipment cleaned and sanitized.
- Maintains a clean department at all times, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, equipment cleaning, etc.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Cook or Food Service Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Have a 10th grade education or greater.
- Experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
- Must purchase and wear required uniform.
- Must be able to use equipment without jeopardizing the safety of self, others, or equipment.
- Must be able to use supplies economically Must attend food service training programs and other staff meetings, as required.
- Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Must read, know and follow personnel, department and Facility policies.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Serv-Safe Certification, preferred. Must obtain, if not already certified.
- First Aid, preferred
Background check & Drug Screen is conducted.
