JOB TITLE: First Impressions (Receptionist)
REPORTS TO: Practice Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Provides patients with information regarding appointments and services. Schedules appointments, triages incoming calls, sends messages to medical staff, and ensures efficient flow in the schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers all incoming calls and triages them per protocol.
- Schedules, cancels, and reschedules all new and existing patients for all Covenant Family Practice (CFP) sites.
- Updates existing patient demographic information as needed, and inputs new patient demographics into Athena.
- Advises patient of documentation and other items needing to be brought to appointment.
- Informs a patient of late arrival, cancellation, and rescheduling policies.
- Scans patient documents into Athena.
- Maintains excellent and punctual attendance.
- Attends staff meetings as required.
- Discusses balances with patients and process payments.
- Checks insurance activity through Navicure, Tricare, and Medicaid websites.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
- Abides by office policies and demonstrates commitment to CFP mission and goals.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Develop and maintain rapport with patients.
- Works cooperatively and respectfully with others.
- Performs other duties as instructed by management.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-year customer service, or appointment scheduling in a medical facility.
- Medical Assistant graduate is preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, spell proficiently, hear, and speak clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to use a multi-line phone system, computer, and copy/fax/scan equipment.
- Must be eligible to work in the US
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
As a First Impressions representative, you must be able to speak with a clear, polite, and calming tone with patients, while effectively promoting CFP policies. Able to read, write, type, and hear clearly. Visual abilities required by this position include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth and color perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May occasionally lift 10-20 pounds. Required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk briefly to nurse stations. Daily use of multi-line phone system, calculation skills, computer, keyboard, and ability to use fax/scan/copy equipment is required. Must be able to stay focused and on task while multitasking duties. You must be able to stay calm and deal diplomatically while under stress. Noise level in work environment can range from low to moderate.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
