What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Construction Manager position at Coventry Homes, a Dream Finders Homes company?
The primary role of the Area Construction Manager is to structure and facilitate budgets, set and maintain schedules, oversee on-site safety and make sure that everyone completes duties on time. You will communicate with many people, including contractors, construction workers, architects, vendors and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Walks product to insure quality standards are being met at various stages of progress
- Works with builders to source and secure additional trades as needed
- Ensures that blueprints, takeoffs and budgets are correct
- On job training of all Builders in process and procedures
- Approves all sub-contractor payroll
- Monitors Builder communication with sales in order to maximize closings and customer satisfaction
- Conducts bi-weekly builder meetings with team
- Conducts weekly individual planned encounters.
- Coordinates supply/trade issues in project with purchasing department
- People evaluation - goals vs. reality on production, variance, surveys
- Evaluates and maintains effectiveness of staff, maintain minimum performance level via training/hiring/replacementFacilitates training for builders as needed
- Manages variance to budget
- Coordinates builder loading and coordinate start timing and pace
- Maintain and enforce work place safety requirements
- They make sure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the client's specifications.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's degree inconstruction management
- 7 years previous construction experience preferred Homebuilding Software experience a huge plus Exceptional communication skills
- - both written andverbal
- Strong attention to detailStrong organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience in supervising, coaching, and leading a team
- Valid Driver's License
