Summary: Responsible for providing leadership and support to staff, execute daily operations, including inventory management, order processing and interacting with customers, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
- Ensure accuracy of shipments and inventory transactions.
- Communicate job expectations and coach employees.
- Determine and assign workload on a daily basis.
- Interface with customers to process orders and answer questions or solve problems.
- Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
- Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
- Performs all other duties deemed necessary by the Plant Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises four employees in the Shipping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, esp. Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge in warehouse software packages; internet software and UPS and FedEx systems.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s Degree (A.S. or A.A.S) and at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Forklift certified
- Certified to ship and receive hazardous materials, both domestic and international
Equipment:
- Forklift
- Wrapping machine
