This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions
- This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California’s current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Desirable Qualifications
- 3 years working in communications, marketing or a related field, with experience managing and leading people and teams. Health insurance or health care experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to and foster a culture of teamwork, trust and collaboration across multiple internal divisions in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment.
- Experience developing and overseeing traditional and non-traditional, cross channel and experiential approaches through mainstream and multicultural media, experiential platforms, and social media including influencer strategies consumer journeys, and follower acquisition.
- Must possess excellent communication and persuasive writing skills
- Experience with project management processes and tools and managing budgets and expenditures.
- Ability to serve as a spokesperson on behalf of the organization for media and other public-facing interviews and engagements
- Knowledge of, and experience working with hard-to-reach or hard-to-convince populations and addressing cultural or linguistic barriers to access, which can include multicultural markets and media. Bilingual skills a plus.
