Job Overview:
Covia is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic 3 to join our team at our Marston, NC location. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and productive operation of the plant, working closely with other departments to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct regular safety checks and perform tasks in a safe and timely manner, adhering to pre-job safety discussions and conducting Last Minute Risk Assessments prior to beginning tasks.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and equipment inspections.
Troubleshoot mechanical or equipment failure, diagnose issues such as burnt up motors, blown fuses, seized bearings, excessive wear, or any other mechanical failure.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is running at optimal levels.
Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Literacy in English, both verbally and written.
Ability to read and understand parts schematics and blueprints for maintenance fabrication and ordering/replacement of parts.
Previous experience within mining operations, preference given to sand mining.
Prior exposure to an understanding of operational equipment.
Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately.
Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver set targets.
