What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Admissions Counselor Acute position at Covington Behavioral Health Hospital?
Located in Covington, Louisiana, Covington Behavioral Health is a licensed 104-bed treatment center specializing in providing compassionate, individualized care for adult individuals who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional and mental well-being. We offer a comprehensive suite of inpatient care with detox and intensive outpatient program services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to inquiries about the facility within facility policy timeframes.
Collaborate with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
Communicate projected admissions to designated internal representative in a timely manner.
Perform insurance benefit verifications, disseminating the information gathered to patient, their families and other appropriate facility staff.
Ensure all medical admission documentation is gathered from external sources prior to patient admission and secure initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
Assist individual therapists with concurrent reviews with insurance companies to secure continued treatment.
Coordinate and facilitate peer to peer reviews when needed and collaborate the results of reviews with multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Must be able to work nights and weekends.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
- Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN preferred.
- One or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current licensure, as preferred for the area of clinical specialty, as designated by the state in which the facility operates.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be preferred based on state or facility.
- CMS regulated facility, a covid vaccination card, religious or medical exemption is required.
