What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Wound Care - Full Time position at Covington County Hospital?
The Wound Care RN works closely with wound care team to provide nursing services to wound care clinic patients.
Position: Full Time. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; Long and Short-term Disability; Retirement.
Education/Requirements:
- Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and in good standing with the Mississippi Board of Nursing, BNS preferred
- Medical Surgical, Home Health or Wound Care Certification preferred
- Wound care experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations required
- Strong interpersonal, listening, oral, and written commination skills required
Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care to Wound Care patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned in accordance with hospital and nursing standards
- May serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned. This entails: Performing the initial assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician, assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient's status in regard to desired outcome, and identifies patient care situations that require intervention
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, provides education to the patient or caregiver, and serves as patient advocate in the delivery of coordination of the patient care
- Collaborates as needed with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Providers, Program Director and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs
- May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe)
- Performs other dutes as required
