This Full-Time position plays a crucial role within our community, providing support to individuals facing challenges related to substance abuse, mental health, and incarceration. Located at our vibrant Cow Creek Behavioral Health Clinic, this role is an in-person position, emphasizing the importance of face-to-face interaction and personal connection in the recovery process.
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to use your own experiences with mental health recovery to assist others in similar situations, promoting empowerment and recovery through empathy, encouragement, and practical support. Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a peer mentor and develop rapport with individuals seeking support.
- Provide emotional support, empathy, and understanding to participants in both individual and group settings.
- Encourage and facilitate self-advocacy, empowerment, and self-determination among participants.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure holistic care and support is provided.
- Identify and connect individuals to appropriate community and health resources.
- Assist individuals in setting and achieving their personal recovery goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions with participants and professional entities.
