General Definition of Work
Performs a variety of technical and general operations duties associated with the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the airport; related work as apparent or assigned. This position supervises the operations employees. Work is performed under the supervision of the Airport Manager.

Essential Functions
Supervises operations employees; develops work schedules; assigns tasks; reviews work; reviews time sheets.
Participates in airplane fueling and fuel sales; coordinates efforts to fulfill crew service requests such as car rental, etc.
Oversees the fuel inventory, purchasing and quality control; records information and prepares reports as required by Federal, State, County and regional authorities.
Conducts inspections of airfield; participates in maintenance and repair efforts in accordance with aviation standards.
Monitors airport operations to ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, and established procedures
Issues Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) as appropriate.
Participates and assists in hiring, training, and evaluating of operations employees.
Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, updates, documentation for various boards, commissions, legal agencies and Federal, State and local authorities.
Maintains working knowledge of current FAA regulations affecting airport operations.
Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with type of work assigned; thorough knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, rules and regulations; skill in the use of hand and power tools; ability to operate fuel trucks, power-carts, and other related equipment used in the servicing of aircraft; ability to recognize and diagnose problems; understand and communicate clearly in English and communicate via radio transmission; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to think and act appropriately during emergency situations; ability to maintain records; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, vendors, and the general public.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in airport, airline, fixed base, or related operations with some supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration; work is generally in a very loud noise location (e.g. jack hammer work, garbage recycle plant).
Special Requirements
Obtain Airport Employee Fueler certification within six months.
Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records
Valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR)
