Job Title: Staff Accountant (Real Estate)
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: $33.65-38.46/hr.
Summary:
An established and growing commercial real estate firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join its team. This role works closely with senior accounting leadership on a diverse real estate portfolio, handling financial operations, lease administration, and insurance tracking while contributing to special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounts receivable and payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and general ledger reconciliation.
- Oversee period-end close activities, including journal entries, batch processing, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Post monthly financial transactions such as rent payments and assist with accounts receivable monitoring.
- Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy in property and expense coding, coordinating with property management as needed.
- Process property invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows.
- Serve as an accounting liaison to internal teams, tenants, and vendors, providing timely financial support and issue resolution.
- Conduct ongoing general ledger reviews to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Investigate and correct financial discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Administer lease accounting functions using industry-standard software.
- Assist with annual CAM reconciliations and manage tenant insurance tracking, including renewal notices.
- Prepare year-end audit packages and support external audit processes.
- Participate in system enhancements and process improvements related to accounting technology.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting with system testing for financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
