POSITION: Front of the House Host

DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage Department

REPORTS TO: FOH Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for front line service in restaurant and bar operations. Serves guests who order food and drink, and answers questions regarding the offerings. Ensures excellent customer service and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to learn cashier operations using Point-of-Sale register equipment.
• Responsible for proper set up of Front-of-House area for all food outlets.
• Take and process orders as presented by the customer.
• Maintain the presence which will include bussing of tables, floor cleanliness and general appearance.
• Knowledge of menu items with ability to describe ingredients and general preparation standards.
• Rotates stock in coolers and counter displays for customer consumption.
• Ensures that food storage on the station is carried out in accordance with restaurant standards.
• Informs FOH Manager of all supply needs.
• Must consistently demonstrate a high level of guest service to customers and employees, and represent the casino in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ensures all equipment is in working order, performing frequent inspections.
• Maintain all food preparation areas in a thorough sanitary condition assuring compliance with all health code standards.
• Must maintain a good attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must present a cheerful and friendly personality and a well groomed appearance at all times.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is also required to be on his/her feet for long periods of time. The employee is also required to bend and reach with hands and arms. Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds of force is required. An employee must also possess the ability to climb, kneel, stoop, grasp, and feel as part of their daily activities.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an intense environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform the required job duties.

• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
