What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slot Technician position at Coyote Valley Casino?
The main responsibility of Slot Technician is to provide superb customer service. Slot Technicians provide this service by ensuring a timely response to slot customer’s needs including repairing machine malfunctions and maintaining slot machine’s optimum performance. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Coyote Valley Casino polices and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives, and in accordance with the basic Operational Foundations of the Tribe.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Promote positive customer relations by providing timely response to customers needs regarding machine malfunctions.
- Responsible for understanding the various types of machines and assisting customers on how to play and read the machines.
- Assists slot attendants by providing technical expertise relating to slot maintenance and repairs including; coin jams and other minor malfunctions.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, identifying and repairing slot machines in a timely manner.
- Complete necessary sign in-out sheets for radios/keys.
- Participates in the movement, installation, and removal of slot equipment.
- May perform some of the duties of a slot attendant.
- Makes repairs and adjustments to slot machines ensuring optimum performance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and use proper etiquette when using radios.
- Responsible for accounting for parts and tools used in the performance of the job.
- Responsible for maintaining parts inventory, including tracking inventory levels, recommend ordering and prepared necessary documents for approval.
- Responsible for the safety and security of customers and casino employees.
- Must maintain appropriate records of repairs, preventative maintenance and other documentation requirements.
- May be required to perform on-the-job training for new hires as appropriate.
- Responsible for the general cleanliness of assigned area.
- Must abide by the dress code maintaining the professional appearance of the Casino at all times.
- Must be able to work well with Co-workers/Supervisor/Managers.
- Must consistently demonstrate a high level of customer service to customers and employees, and represent the casino in a friendly and professional manner.
- May be asked to perform various duties in the cage as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
- Reviews, understands and applies departmental and casino Policy and Procedures to the workplace.
- Must maintain a good attendance record.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of game performance, operations and maintenance experience is required.
Language Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
Reasoning Ability:
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Physical Demands:

- The Employee is also regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- The Employee is also required to stand and move through all areas of the casino.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate loud.
- When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud.
- Must be able to work in an intense environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform the required job duties.
- The work environment is not smoke free.

Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
