Job Description
The Vice President of IT Operations will lead, oversee and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of IT services for a law firm of 2000 employees. This role will lead a team of 30 engineers, administrators, software developers, analysts, DBA's, managers and directors to provide high-quality technology solutions and services that align with business goals and create a positive end user experience.
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on leadership, direction and oversight of the firm's IT core technology platforms including infrastructure, software solutions, custom solutions development, enterprise business systems, enterprise data, and IT service management. Ensure the reliability, security, performance , and scalability of IT systems and infrastructure.
Align platforms, infrastructure systems, data management systems, and an expansive application portfolio to achieve business goals, drive user satisfaction, and create operational efficiencies.
Engage with, and analyze feedback from end users to identify trends and patterns. Establish, monitor, and report on user satisfaction metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement. Implement strategies to enhance user satisfaction. Partner with the VP of User Experience to ensure a world-class service delivery model that is built on user satisfaction and customer support.
Partner with the Firm's Security Operations and IT Risk teams to achieve system security and data privacy objectives. Ensure IT operations complies with all regulatory obligations, in addition to, ISO27001, SOC, and other security and privacy standards and laws. Collaborate in incident response situations. Build a security-conscious culture that ensures that team members are aware of the latest security threats and best practices.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of IT operations. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on the status of IT operations and related initiatives. Identify solutions to drive performance, reliability, security.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT operations team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Develop and manage IT operations budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and identify alternative solutions to ensure the best value for the organization.
Partner with the IS Department Project Management office to ensure technology projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Collaborate, communicate, and drive highly complex technology solutions to broad audiences, including executives and business leaders, both in and outside of IT, to align initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management role.
- Strong customer service drive to ensure user satisfaction and address issues promptly .
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with executive leadership.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Proven experience building and managing:
- localized infrastructure, WAN, virtualization technologies, cloud services, infrastructure as a service, datacenter operations. DR/BC a must.
- Enterprise data management and data integration solutions.
- End user computing environments.
- Enterprise applications supporting key business functions such as finance and marketing.
- Experience managing international data security and privacy frameworks and standards including ISO27001, SOC, HIPAA, GDPR, etc. CISSP certification preferred.
- Familiarity with software development processes and development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- This position is based in Philadelphia, PA, with occasional travel required.
- This role is a hybrid role with 3 days a week required to be onsite in Philadelphia (Tu, Wed, Th). Onsite requirements may change and require more time onsite.
- The role will require working outside of regular business hours to address operational requirements.
