Constructive Partnerships (CP) Unlimited, since 1946 is a leading non-profit provider of residential, day habilitation, Article 16, and clinical health services and supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout New York City, Nassau County, and Hudson Valley. This is a time of growth at CP Unlimited and we have expanded our constituency to include supportive housing.
We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. Reporting to a Human Resources Business Partner, the right candidate will provide administrative support to all areas of the Human Resources Department. Some specific responsibilities include but are not exclusive to other duties which may be required:
- Process changes of status forms by inputting new hires and changes in employee’s employment into HRIS platforms. Update HRIS with employee documents, degrees and licenses. Input and update Taleo.
- Conducts reference checks, schedules fingerprinting and medical appointments. Prepares and distributes medication administration class correspondence and lists of participants for Human Resources Business Partners. Prepares materials for orientation sessions as needed.
- Performs required various compliance and background checks for all newly hired employees including Sex Offender Registries, and fraud websites (SCR, SEL, MHL). Completes monthly fraud checks (EP Staff Check) and new hire reporting.
- Prepares, posts and distributes weekly job postings.
- Handles unemployment insurance questionnaires received from a third-party vendor in a timely manner. Sends follow-up communications to management when clarification is needed on status of termination.
- Acts as a back-up for benefits functions including worker’s compensation, disability, and unemployment claims as needed.
- Creates and distributes to respective Managers weekly Employee Leave Reports. Follow-up with Managers verbally and in writing regarding employee status. Disseminate letters to employees requesting date of return to work and/or additional information needed.
- Creates reports as required including monthly/quarterly anniversary, employee bio data, and licensing reports on a regular basis and as needed. Distributes anniversary reports on a quarterly basis for all staff. Tracks submission of all completed evaluations.
- Attend job fairs as needed and assists in the job fair preparation.
- Prepares employee transfer letters and other correspondence.
- Prepares new hire employee files in preparation for scanning.
- Completes monthly fraud checks (EPS Staff Check) and new hire reporting.
- Responds to requests for information regarding terminated employees and former volunteers/interns. Responds to requests for information needed for audits.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or related field.
- Certification highly desired but not required.
- A minimum of 2 years working in a Human Resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
