Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Through strong knowledge of the organization’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications, helps the business address changes through technology. Report Writers are responsible for all work activities associated with the design, build, test, and implementation of Workday reports, including management of the review and sign off process with Functional Leads. Report Writers will work with the Reporting Lead to understand the proposed design of the Workday solution and the impact to providing reports to users. Report Writers will work with the Reporting Lead and Functional Leads / SMEs to gather reporting requirements and prepare the corresponding report inventory. The role will include providing support to the Reporting Lead in analyzing Workday delivered reports, determine whether current reports can be leveraged/configured or whether new custom reports are required. Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Perform report lifecycle activities, including participate in design sessions to capture requirements and Workday report development: Gather, build, test and debug Workday reports & Dashboards. Follow established standards and change management processes including report documentation. Analyze existing data and help map to future data structure in Workday as it relates to reporting. Ensure the reporting requirements are met across all functional areas. Develop report specifications across all functional areas (e.g. Student Recruiting & Admissions, Financial Aid, Curriculum Management, Academic Records, etc.). Support the analysis of delivered Workday reports to determine if they meet requirements. Validate the audit and reconciliation processes associated with reporting. Provide, cultivate and foster excellent customer service. Document existing processes as they relate to reporting current state. Support the establishment of a post-go-live reporting capability. E2E Test: Engage with Functional Leads and the Test Lead to support the execution of report testing. Support development of report related test scenarios and other supporting test assets. Support the execution of report related test scenarios throughout E2E Test and work with campus testers and Test Lead to support defect resolution. Change Management: Support WPP Change Management Lead in the delivery of reporting training. Preferred Qualifications Aptitude in learning and mastering report writing tools. Knowledge of commonly used reports for Student Administration. Background in identifying, designing, testing, and deploying reports in an ERP system. Background in understanding Student Academic data that could be used in building reports. Knowledge or understanding of ERP security as it relates to reporting. Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills. Background in driving standards in an organization of relevant size, complexity and scale. Higher Ed functional background. Highly motivated, flexible team player and manager with the ability to deliver in a timely and professional manner. Supports teammates at all times and in any way necessary to maintain a productive, energetic, efficient and dynamic WashU IT team. Communicates effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team. Collaborates with other teammates to provide assistance, and expertise, as well as to receive expert input and assistance from others delivering the best solution and experience for the customer. Aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness and empathy. Enthusiastic and committed to helping others and exhibit the ability to quickly assess the specific needs of the customer to determine an appropriate course of action. Ability to quickly defuse stressful or anxious situations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or comparable discipline plus four years of relevant experience analyzing business processes and data, or equivalent combination of experience, certification and education. Grade G13 Salary Range $62,000.00 - $106,000.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
