Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. About the Senior CAD Technician Position
As a Senior CAD Technician, you support the administration of the applications used to manage documentation and Autodesk products. This position serves as the internal Subject Matter Expert for engineering drawings and works with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that delivered work products are following Colonial’s standards and specifications. The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for maintaining internal standards pertaining to drawings and engineering data management, as well as facilitating any related and necessary internal communications and training. This role works with internal and external stakeholders to create, update and maintain our engineering drawings. The Senior CAD Technician works independently to identify and perform technical analysis/design work with minimal direct oversight or review of work products and upholds the Safety Management System (SMS) principles of Plan, Do, Check, Adjust.
What You Get to Do:
Serve as an administrator of Colonial’s drawing and electronic documents storage and access tools. These include but are not limited to Enterprise Drawing Storage and Access Systems (Adept), Web based download integration (Scout integrations), SQL Server, and Autodesk products.
Assist in the administration of the Drawings Storage and Access System (Adept) and manage AutoDesk licenses.
Conduct field visits and work with local staff to identify drawing changes.
Perform regular audits and gap analysis of engineering drawings and utilize field resources to ensure drawings are up to date.
Perform redline updates in 2D and 3D and create new facility drawings and typical drawings, as necessary.
Ensure that drawing updates are conducted in a timely, accurate manner consistent with the needs of internal managers, engineers, and other analysts to inform good decision making.
Recognize the data infrastructure required to meet drawing and document access demands.
Develop and implement efficient and creative solutions to provide the organization with the structures needed to utilize drawings and documents to inform effective decision making.
Maintain long term program to ensure data quality and accuracy within the Enterprise Data Management System
Support the creation and delivery of pipeline maps, reports, drawings, documents, and data.
What You Bring to the Table:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma for an accredited educational institution.
Ideally, 5 years of CAD experience and 1 years Plant3D experience.
Customer focused with organizational awareness, accountability, and business acumen.

Bachelor’s Degree with additional GIS/CAD certifications from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
10 years of CAD experience.
3 years of Plant3D experience.
2 years of Document Management Application Administration experience.
Applicable CAD Certifications.
Application development experience.
Coding – Java, HTML5, C , Python, others.
Knowledge of SQL, XML, and Database Administration.
Skilled in ArcGIS, data manipulation and analysis software (FME), and relational databases.
