YOUR DAY TO DAY:
Performs a variety of technical assignments such as constructing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment following established procedures and working under general supervision.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Performs a variety of electronic, mechanical and technical assignments such as constructing, repairing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting and testing.
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions.
- Operates related electronic and mechanical equipment necessary to tune, test and troubleshoot specific equipment.
- Uses pre-determined methods, sequences and set-ups to visually inspect or test specific equipment making necessary modifications and adjustments as necessary.
- Recommends changes or modifications to improve general operation or the quality of equipment making necessary modifications and adjustments as needed.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks on electronic and mechanical equipment.
- Makes adjustments and modifications to specific equipment repairs or replaces malfunctioning units as required.
- Conducts a variety of engineering tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Designs and improves a variety of electronic and mechanical tools, fixtures and equipment as required.
- Provides technical assistance and leadership as necessary.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience with soldering required
- Education in basic electronics preferred
- Knowledge of fundamentals in assigned area and ability to use common equipment and instruments preferred
- Proficient computer skill including Microsoft Office
- Highly motivated
- Excellent work ethic
- Team-oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Good manual dexterity
- Radar/Sonar experience preferred
- US Citizenship and, if required, are able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.
