CPI Security is seeking a talented and creative Product Designer with expertise in WordPress to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing digital products, with a strong emphasis on websites and web applications built on WordPress. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, marketers, and product managers, to create exceptional user experiences that meet both business objectives and user needs.Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, CPI Security was founded in 1991 on an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for helping and protecting others. The company leads the industry in alarm response times, is consistently ranked in the top 10 of electronic security businesses and is widely known as North Carolina and South Carolina's Top 25 Best Places to Work.Essential FunctionsUser-Centered Design : Lead the design process from concept to execution for WordPress-based products, focusing on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.WordPress Customization : Utilize WordPress themes and plugins, and sometimes custom development, to implement user-friendly design solutions that align with project requirements.Responsive Design : Ensure all designs are responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms.Collaboration with Development Team : Work closely with developers to ensure that designs are effectively translated into code and functionality.Visual Design : Develop and maintain consistent visual design systems, ensuring that the design elements align with brand guidelines and user expectations.Continuous Improvement : Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and performance metrics to continuously enhance the product experience.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with product managers, content teams, and marketing teams to understand business goals and user needs.Design Documentation : Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design systems, style guides, and UX / UI specifications for development teams.Wireframing & Prototyping : Create wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design ideas clearly.Requirements Experience : 3 years of experience in product design, with a focus on WordPress-based websites and web applications.Design Tools : Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and others for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.WordPress Expertise : Deep understanding of WordPress, including theme customization, plugin integration, and page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).HTML / CSS Knowledge : Basic understanding of HTML / CSS, with the ability to work collaboratively with front-end developers.User-Centered Approach : Strong skills in user research, usability testing, and the application of UX principles to design solutions.Portfolio : A strong portfolio showcasing your product design work, with a focus on WordPress websites, e-commerce platforms, and other digital products.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain design concepts to stakeholders.Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges and solutions.Attention to Detail : High attention to detail and a passion for delivering pixel-perfect designs.Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Other Experience Required Bachelor's degree or higher in related field preferredProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Cloud, Wordpress & Figma3-5 years of experience with website design, mobile design, user experience flows, user experience design, user experience development and requirements managementFamiliarity with SEO best practices and performance optimization techniques for WordPressExtensive Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce) and custom WordPress plugin developmentThe Perks Aggressive pay and the opportunity to work for an iconic brandGreat medical, dental, vision, short- & long-term disability and life insurance optionsCompany paid holidays, floating holiday, and paid time off (PTO)401(k) plan with competitive company matchEligible for free monitored security system after 90 daysEducation assistance - we encourage and support our employees who want to improve their skills and further their educationEngaging and fun company culture that's made up of a diverse group of peopleVolunteer and community engagement opportunities.
