Job Summary

The Research & Development Intern is a full time, 3 month assignment, that supports the innovation team by completing tasks such as: prototyping, mechanical or process design, engineering calculations, experimentation, data collection, data processing, and data analysis of new and existing technologies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Experimentation Support
• Design, execute, and evaluate experimentation in laboratory environments
• Design experimental apparatus when applicable
• Prepare summary reports and data plots to communicate results and progress
• Research Support
• Research of new and existing methods for application to innovation efforts
• Process Engineering Support
• Assist in observing and evaluating new technology performance in pilot plant scenarios
• Perform associated process engineering duties such as specifying parts and components for changes to process equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A High-School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in ChemE or MechE is required.
• Experience with 2D/3D modeling in Autodesk Suite is a plus.
• Knowledge of oilseed processes and mechanical systems is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience or mechanical background is advantageous.
• Capable of reporting and technical writing.
• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow oral, written, and technical instructions accurately.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Approximately 50% spent in a laboratory or plant environment.
• Laboratory/plant environment conditions include some exposure to chemicals, loud noises.
• Approximately 50% of time spent in the office environment.
• Office environment conditions are normal for an office environment.

Base Salary - $ 20.00-25.00 USD Hourly.
