The Lead Product Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager at our plant in Eastlake, Ohio, and will work closely with the Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Corporate Sales teams daily. This role will be responsible for building & leading a team of Product Engineers, focusing on NPI (new product introduction) over the next five years. Work cooperatively in a team environment to develop and enhance robust manufacturing processes and tooling to support the company's growth in the aerospace and industrial investment casting markets. Using a standardized approach, identify problems, generate alternatives, and implement solutions that affect the product's yield, rework, and overall quality. Support/Direct the construction of dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling needed to produce and inspect ceramic cores, wax patterns, and castings. Using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) Interface with tooling vendors and CPP Purchasing to produce a quality tool/die at a competitive price. Control the dimensional quality of castings to meet or exceed customer expectations. Document work procedures and processes. Manage the Scrap Team(s) for dimensionally related items (dimensional, core break, core related, etc.). Mentorship and training of engineering personnel to support business growth and development. Education : BS in Engineering or related technical field Experience : 8 years' experience in mechanical or product engineering in the investment casting industry. Ability to interpret customer specifications relative to establishing internal written NDT specifications. Strong program management skills. Skills using NX/UG, SolidWorks, GOM, Minitab, and Microsoft Suite. Office Environment. Occasional work is required on weekends. and using a computer screen for extended periods. Travel Requirements : 10%
