Job Summary
As a Quality Engineer at CPP, you will work collaboratively in a team environment to develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes and quality systems. Your responsibilities will include gathering and interpreting data to determine product acceptance, identifying and resolving problems, and implementing solutions to improve quality and yield.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and advance CPP's quality systems, procedures, and practices.
- Develop and document quality work procedures and processes.
- Review contracts for adherence with CPP standards and practices.
- Interact with NDT level III personnel to ensure product compliance.
- Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques.
- Manage resolution of non-conforming material/processes.
- Communicate with customers to resolve/address quality system concerns/inquires.
- Participate during customer/external audits including preparation, guidance and closure.
- Drive closure of preventative/corrective actions, customer returns/inquires.
- Actively participate in Continuous improvement of process/product.
- Coordinate with engineering team the applicable qualification documentation and data submittal packages.
- Review quality shipment documentation including certificates of conformance and other quality audit checklists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or 3-5 years of applicable experience.
- Quality systems, and/or formal training in Quality tools.
- Certifications/Licenses: CQA or CQ Engineer preferred.
- Basic engineering skills.
- Knowledge and application of statistics.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs.
- Quality system and problem solving skills.
- Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, reports and basic working knowledge of GD&T.
Working Environment
- Indoor working environment within various areas of a foundry facility/Office environment.
- Sitting/standing, using a computer screen, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time, ability to lift to 20lbs.
- Occasional travel required.
