Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse on daylight for OB/GYN in Johnstown, PA. The RN would triage phone calls, assess patient needs and give advice under the direction of a physician. Responsible for providing nursing care to meet the needs of the patients, assisting medical staff and providing quality care to the patients. Provides direct patient care ranging from adolescents through geriatrics with emphasis on gynecological and obstetrics patients. Assists with test follow-up and patient notification. Participate in Process Improvement as a team member in the office setting.

Essential Responsibilities:
Triages patient telephone inquiries on the nurse lines x 2.
Completes nurse task lists in clinical work queue.
Screens every new OB call to the office for needed labs and early ultrasounds.
Performs initial OB intake - assessment / history/ education.
Follows all quants and ultrasounds for every obstetrical patient.
Completes all clinical tasks from faxes: This includes but is not limited to outside labs, medication referrals / renewals / clarifications, breast
pumps, DME, mammos, Breast biopsies, Breast MRI’s, Pap smears, pelvis ultrasounds, and MRI’s.
Manages EPIC work queues titled: Patient advice requests, Patient calls, medication refills, results, result notes, staff messages.
Enters orders needed by MFM clinic.
Manages OR pretesting calls for order entry.
Enters mammo orders when needed by Radiology.
Performs medication pre certifications/ authorizations.
Manages all referrals for coordination of care to other offices such as Iron infusions and Diabetic education, breast surgery, Gyne Onc,
Urology.
Manages all provider orders outside of the scope of the LPN. Examples include but are not limited to diagnostic testing order entry,
medication-ordering, referrals.
Administers IM, SQ, injections as scheduled on Nurse Schedule.
Performs blood pressure checks as scheduled on the Nurse schedule.
Follows all abnormal paps, mammos, biopsies, pelvic ultrasounds, endometrial/ cervical/ vulvar biopsies, tumor markers. This is for all office
locations. Covers up to and including sending of certified letter.
Coordinates patient orders with the hospital staff. This includes but is not limited to NST, labor inductions, triage evaluation.
Completes all FMLA and return to work forms for obstetrical patients.
Teaches patients medication injections for home use.
Utilizes EHR for documentation, orders, provider communication, and prescriptions.
Performs on-site laboratory tests and QA testing.
Orients new nursing personnel.
Covers staffing shortages of the office by assisting medical staff in patient care tasks, including rooming patients as needed. This involves
assisting with speculum exams and cultures, cytological sampling; colposcopies/LEEP, IUIs, minor surgical procedures, other invasive office
procedures.
Travels to other offices, as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Graduate of a nursing program for professional nurses.
Experience:
Required: Two years of obstetrical nursing.
Preferred: Outpatient physician office experience.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
Required: Current Pennsylvania R.N. license.
