We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the on-site management of healthcare facility construction projects. This role is responsible for maintaining jobsite safety, ensuring quality control, managing project costs, and keeping schedules on track. The Superintendent will collaborate closely with project management, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Oversight & Coordination :
Responsible for understanding and managing contractual documents, including contracts, schedules, and pay applications.
Coordinates project teams, ensuring smooth workflow and communication between all stakeholders.Creates, implements, and monitors the site logistics and management plan.Maintains complete and organized records at the jobsite.Ensures the punch list is created, distributed, and completed on time.Scheduling & Planning :Plans and coordinates weekly work activity, including sequencing and interaction of trades.
Monitors and maintains the construction schedule and takes corrective action as required.Creates look-ahead schedules to proactively address potential project issues.Coordinates material procurement and delivery with subcontractors and schedules accordingly.Monitors the timely approval of submittals and assists the management team in identifying long-lead items.Safety & Quality Control :Exercises primary responsibility for project safety, including site separation and jobsite activities.
Ensures compliance with all OSHA jobsite requirements.Exercises primary responsibility for jobsite quality control.Conducts and keeps records of weekly progress meetings and daily huddles with trade partners.Subcontractor & Cost Management :Manages subcontractor performance, enforcing compliance and taking corrective actions as needed.
Assists management staff in developing bid scopes and reviewing job costs regularly.Reviews and codes timesheets, material invoices, and Comdata coding accurately and on time.Problem-Solving & Leadership :Proactively identifies and addresses potential issues before they impact the project timeline.
Assists with business development and preconstruction efforts as needed.Continually develops leadership and mentoring abilities to build strong project teams.Assists project staff with RFIs and ensures timely resolution of field issues.Minimum Job Requirements :
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent , preferably in healthcare facility construction (hospitals, FSEDs, ACHA experience and ICRA certified).Ability to work independently and proactively manage jobsite activities.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.Ability to maintain high-quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules and deadlines.Demonstrated leadership skills and personal accountability.Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively.Math Skills : Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Understanding of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability : Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex issues with limited standardization. Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.Basic computer skills required.Valid drivers license required.Why Join Us?
